I must congratulate Al-Madina Institute for the work they do, and the published audio tape. This work as well as the itellectual renaissance of the Muslim intellectual is esential for the Islamic footprint to positively take hold in North America. One of the most pressing concerns for Muslims in North America is to build a framework that allows for the Islamization of an indigenous structure. The foundation of the model must ammass a body of work that contributes to the intellectual culture of North America. I am equally convinced that Muslims must critique the intrareligious status-quo and cultural structures that lean towards social isolation and racial discrimination. This critique is not popular or painless however it involves the dismantling of an invisible cultural heritage that has disthroned the indigenous voice however has not challenged the immorality of empire; the American racil insitutions and ingrained discriminatory practices that have become part of an American fabric. Muslims must begin to look at some of the suppresive and nihilistic patterns that have strangled the potential in the indigenous community.Secondaily Muslims must build a model of liberation theology that convinces the oppressed that there are salient characteristics within Islam that satisfy the concerns of the poor and victimized.
